Sussex County Golf – Parent and Spectator Guidance for Junior Events
We are delighted to welcome parents, families, and friends to support our junior players at this event.
Your encouragement means a great deal and contributes to a positive experience for everyone involved.
To ensure fairness, safety, and the smooth running of play, we ask all spectators to follow the guidance below:
.
What You Can Do:
- Support all players with positive encouragement and appreciation of good shots.
- Assist with spotting golf balls where appropriate.
- Stay ahead of the group to help maintain pace of play.
- Support your child before their round begins by helping them prepare with:
- Nutrition and hydration.
- Ensuring they have all necessary equipment.
.
What You Cannot Do:
- Do not caddy or carry clubs.
- Do not tend the flag, rake bunkers, or carry out any on-course duties.
- Do not give advice to a player. Coaching or advice is not permitted during play – this includes club selection or helping with rules.
- Only designated tournament officials may provide rulings or advice.
- Do not walk on the greens or interfere with play in any way.
- Do not take photographs or videos unless specific authorisation has been given in advance, in line with our safeguarding policy.
- Always spectate from the sidelines, maintaining a minimum distance of 25 yards from the players at all times. This is essential for the enjoyment and fairness of the competition for all players.
.
Breaches of Guidance:
If any spectator is seen breaching the above guidelines:
- A first warning will be issued.
- On a second warning, the individual will be asked to leave the golf course.
.
Our priority is always the safeguarding and enjoyment of all junior players involved. Thank you for your cooperation and for helping us provide a supportive and fair competitive environment.
